Tall and stately, yet never needs staking. Elegant large leaves (up to 16" across!) of deepest dark green. White flowers of Cimicifuga Racemosa soar above foliage on stiff wiry stems. Dramatic grouped at the back of the border, or planted amongst shrubs.
Cimicifuga are grown for their dramatic stature and impressive blooms. Finely cut fern-like foliage makes a perfect backdrop for the late summer spires of fragrant flowers. Prefers a consistently moist site for best habit. Extremely hardy. Cimicifuga are low maintenance plants.
Needs deep soil which is well drained. Seedheads provide winter interest, so it's nice to leave them standing. Division is rarely needed as once established, plants can remain undisturbed indefinitely.
