A Bluestone Classic
Longwood Blue has sky blue flowers atop silver foliage for a striking combination. Blue mist shrub is aptly named as it is covered in a cloud of blue from mid to late summer. The slight arching habit makes it fit beautifully into the perennial border. Both flowers and foliage are fragrant. It is a well-behaved garden plant.

Caryopteris General Information

Caryopteris are covered with clusters of delicate blue flowers from late summer until frost. Provides hard-to-find midsummer color. Attractive to butterflies and works well in containers. Good drought tolerance reported. Caryopteris are shipped during our spring shipping season only. Idaho has restricted all potted plant material from being shipped into Idaho at this time.

Caryopteris Plant Care

Caryopteris bloom on current season's growth, so prune hard in early spring after leaves appear to remove dead growth, promote new blooms and control size and shape. May self sow lightly. Rooted stems may be separated from parent and transplanted in spring. Avoid wet soils. May die back to ground in Zones 5 and 6 but will send up new growth in spring.
