General Information:
Baptisia are extremely long-lived. Flower spikes rise above the upright, vase-shaped habit graced with pea-shaped blossoms. Fall brings added interest with black seedpods highlighting the bluish-green foliage.
Plant Care:
Can be slow to establish but will reach shrub like proportions. Good in poor soils. Dislikes being moved when mature. Late fall or spring cleanup may be preferred. Cut to 4-6" when foliage blackens with the cold.
