Crisp butter yellow flowers spire above blue toned clover-like foliage. Baptisia Carolina Moonlight makes a dazzling garden presence. It is adaptable, easy growing and makes a good companion for other rugged plants such as ornamental grasses.
A very permanent and arresting perennial with a vase shape, 3-4' tall. Blue/green foliage on silver stems is topped by soft lupine-like flowers from late spring into summer. The black seedpods can be left on for additional ornamental effect or used in dried arrangements. Extremely long lived, so pick a good spot!
Can be slow to establish but will reach shrub like proportions. Good in poor soils. Dislikes being moved when mature. Late fall or spring cleanup may be preferred. Cut to 4-6 when foliage blackens with the cold.
