Aruncus is a stately, shrub-like perennial for a moist or partly shaded spot. Ivory white, Astilbe-like plumes top plants in summer. Perfect for a woodland garden or beside water. Foliage remains attractive all summer.
May take a season to get going, but then is very established. Division is difficult and not usually needed. Trimming spent flowers in midsummer after bloom will stimulate rebloom. Best in moist, rich soil.
