Anemone Sylvestris, unlike it's fall blooming cousins, shines in the spring. Fragrant, satiny white nodding flowers with yellow anthers above lustrous dense green foliage. Flowers fade to form cottony seed heads. A useful over-planting for spring bulbs of daffodils and tulips.
General Information:
Excellent for shaded or woodland gardens. A low-maintenance groundcover. Best in humus rich soil and bright shade. Can repeat bloom in fall's cooler weather.
Plant Care:
Remove spent seed heads as desired. Easy to grow. Mature plants will spread quickly to fill in. Anemones benefit from a general purpose fertilizer or compost in late fall to late winter. Divide in spring every 2-3 years.
